Not if you use them correctly! We believe that there is a time and place for disposables. Much like there is a time and place for disposable plates. If you use styrofoam plates for every single meal of every single day, you would be having a larger impact on the environment (and your budget) than you probably should. But every once in a while, it's really helpful to have them around.

Even the biggest cloth diaper advocates might still use disposables in certain situations:

• long car or airplane rides
• camping trips
• situations in which someone who is not familiar with cloth will be changing the baby

So while there is a place for disposables, cloth is definitely the way to go for everyday use. It might take some getting used to, but that's what we're here for! Once you and your child are accustomed to cloth, you will realize that it's just as convenient as disposables, but so much better for your baby and for the world.
